Northern Ireland: Tourism, Life and Culture

Northern Ireland is a strange kind of place to live in. For a start, it's the only place in the United Kingdom where people will say that their nationality is British. Everywhere else, they'll say they're English, Scottish or Welsh but know that they're also British. In Northern Ireland, if someone says that they're Irish, then they definitely don't consider themselves British and those that consider themselves British definitely don't think of themselves as Irish.

Although Northern Ireland is pretty small, you'll find a wealth of tourist attractions of which our little guide only touches a few of the highlights from the World Heritage site of the Giant's Causeway with its gigantic volcanic columns to the ancient history of the country at the Ulster History Park.

Northern Ireland offers you the chance to experience two cultures and the meld that this creates in both the original Irish and Scottish communities that live here.

If we've whetted your appetite and you'd like to live in Northern Ireland, our guide covers all aspects of this from moving there to settling in.
